Terms of Reference for developing financial literacy manual
Introduction
Ntake Bakery and Company, in partnership with Private Sector Foundation Uganda and the Mastercard Foundation- Young Africa Works, is implementing the Work Opportunities in Wheat (WOW) Project under the – Enhancing Lead firm structure for youth employment in Uganda.
The projects targets to create 4,956 decent and fulfiling work opportunities for youth aged 18-35 years along the wheat value chain in districts; Kapchorwa, Kween Bukwo, Rubanda, Kabale, Kisoro, Rukungiri Kanungu and Bundibugyo
Objective of the assignment: The overall objective is to develop one customized and simplified training manual for financial literacy and mindset change that will be used for capacity building of value chain actors to improve financial access and management.
Specific Objectives of the assignment are
- Review and adopt a customized financial literacy manual.
- Development of graphical illustrations for the manual and Trainers’ Charts
- Translate the posters to local languages spoken in target districts
Scope of Work (SoW)
The consulting assignment will include the following tasks/ deliverables:
- Conducting a training needs assessment (TNA)
- Develop/Customize a financial literacy the training Manual/guide.
- Develop graphical illustrations with key topics for ease of delivery of the financial literacy modules
- Conduct Training of trainers’ session for ToTs
- Conduct follow up support- coaching and mentorship sessions
- Submit the final designed training manual/guide and training aids to client.
- Conduct refresher training
Consultant/service provider Qualification
The lead consultant should demonstrate the following qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher qualification in relevant agriculture fields such as agribusiness, financial management, microfinance and other relevant fields
- Previous similar experience in designing and developing training manuals and preparing high quality reports
- Qualification as a certified master trainer in Financial Literacy will be an added advantage
Duration of assignment
The assignment will be for 12 months and start from September, 2022.
Selection Criteria
Submitted proposals will be evaluated based on the following weighted criteria
- Technical proposal – 40%
- Financial proposal – 40%
- Previous experience – 20%
