HEALTH, SAFETY, SOCIAL, SECURITY AND ENVIRONMENT (HSSSE) MANAGER





DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Coordinate the activities of the various teams under the section.
  • Set and review health and safety guidelines to minimize accidents and incidents on the project.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable policies and regulations with to Environment, social, security, safety, and health aspects of the project.
  • Collaborates with the management on the upkeep of organization and ensure update of all documents relating to the HSSSE on the project.
  • Conduct safety audits checks and compile reports, this may include checking for appropriate safety clothing or gear, as well as enforcing the display of safety signage.
  • Ensure performance of risk assessment of HSSSE aspects.
  • Ensure periodic review of the efficacy of HSSSE plans and ensure project compliance.
  • Create systems to organize and maintain easily accessible and identifiable records concerning HSSSE, to demonstrate at all times the operability of the system.
  • Ensure HSSSE performance and verification of compliance of all resources including equipment used on site work, executing the record overall control of equipment as required.
  • Responsible for Consultations with stakeholders and other emergency response agencies in order to ensure that the workplace is compliant with health, safety, security, social and environmental (HSSSE)s regulations.
  • Responsible for presenting and explaining plans, as well as conducting training programs on HSSSE.

 

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

 

  • Degree in HSE or certificate in HSE with 5 years’ experience working on large international construction projects to be considered in lieu of a degree in HSE.
  • PTW Management experience in Construction/Commissioning work environment.
  • Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management is an added advantage.
  • 10 years of proven work experience in health, safety, social and security operations including risk management on construction projects.
  • Experience working on international construction projects is a must.
  • Advanced knowledge in Legislation, Regulation standards in Occupational Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Emergency Management, Ergonomic work Analysis, chemical risk control and environmental monitoring.
