Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services for people with disability in Uganda (CoRSU) was established in 2006 as a private non-profit, nongovernmental organization and is supported by CBM (Christian Blind Mission). CoRSU provides Orthopaedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Rehabilitation, mainly for children as well as adults with disability.
Job Summary: The Project Officer (NCPU) will be responsible for the programmatic deliverables for the project.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Country Program Coordinator to manage all aspects of the project cycle including planning, implementation and monitoring.
- Ensure all project documentation and reports produced on time.
- Coordinate with partners for timely submission of quarterly reports and KPI’s.
- Work closely with the Finance department to help prepare monthly and quarterly expense reports.
- Monitor and update monthly financial report and project’s progress to Country Program Coordinator.
- Prepare and submit funds requisitions in line with the scheduled work plans to the accountant for payment.
- Compile and submit accountabilities and reports, Annual reports
- Work closely with the Procurement unit to source suppliers and monitor procurement processes to ensure timely delivery of goods/services and payment of suppliers
- Work with the CAST M&E coordinator on “bring a child back to care” to review the progress reports; analyze KPIs and timely feedback to the partners.
- Develop and implement Project’s work plans on annual/six monthly/quarterly basis.
- Carryout periodic field visits to ensure smooth implementation of project activities.
- Prepare briefing papers/project updates for periodic review meetings.
- Together with the EDR officer, compile project beneficiary case studies when required.
- Maintain and strengthen partnership with implementing partners.
- Support the Country Program Coordinator in networking with key stakeholders working in the project districts.
- Support the Country Program Coordinator in building project staff capacity in program management.
- Participate in NCPU advocacy activities including the ‘International Days Celebration’.
- Assist partners and work with them to conduct workshops and conferences.
- Works closely with the Project Coordinator in implementing the project scope and in the development of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to facilitate decision-making for project start-up.
- Assists with the preparation of the Project Implementation Plan (PIP) and other key documents to support the project.
- Assists with the creation of the Annual Work Plans (AWPs) and schedules for the project and its components for the approval of the Project Coordinator.
- Assists with the project budget management as well as conducting budget reviews with the project coordinator.
- Identify project issues (challenges) and possible solutions, and bring them to the attention of the Project Coordinator for action.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Social sciences from a recognized university.
- Must possess a postgraduate Diploma in Project planning and Management from a recognized institute of graduate learning.
- At least three (3) years’ experience providing support to medium or large scale projects, with 2 years working with health care related project.
- Dynamic professional with experience in project planning, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of medium to large projects
- Strong project management and reporting skills with high degree of integrity
- Must possess project finance acumen to provide technical advice and support the Country Program Coordinator.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent people relational skills.
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Good understanding of Results Based Management (RBM).
- Good working knowledge of internationally accepted rules.

- Proficient in the use of different project management software and the Microsoft Office Suite
